This week, they were able to celebrate a 103-year-old’S birthday along with a 3-year old’s birthday in their senior and early childhood programs. A joint celebration like this is what makes JCC programs so unique.

The bright, spacious campus encompasses people from every walk of life, including seniors who may otherwise be homebound and those with cognitive decline, to children in the early childhood program who are just learning to walk and talk. The senior activity center gives older adults the opportunity to get out, exercise, learn, meet new people, and enjoy themselves in the company of their peers. The Montessori-inspired social adult day program provides those living with dementia a home away from home, with activities throughout the day that increase self-esteem and give each participant a purpose. The grand-friend program marries both the senior and early childhood programs by pairing a senior to a preschool class for the school year. Seniors may read to the class weekly, celebrate holidays together and so much more. The benefits to both groups are overwhelming.

Everyone loved being able to celebrate Marty and Remy on their birthday, just a mere 100 years apart.
