(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC on the Palisades) The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades will host its sixth annual all-level yoga class on Sunday, June 10, 9-10:30 a.m. Held on the expansive JCC camp field, this free, 75-minute outdoor class will be led by inspirational yoga instructors Alison Miller, Robert Hoon, Zasha Delvalle and Justeen Nason. People of all ages and levels are encouraged to attend.
“Yoga promotes relaxation, reduces stress and clears the mind,” says Hagit Tal, JCC group exercise director. “The benefits are enormous and as health professionals at the JCC, we are so proud to offer important health-focused community events like this several times a year as they bring our community together in a private, peaceful, spa-like setting for amazing experiences. Our ongoing hope is to encourage everyone in our community to engage in healthful activities and to educate them about all the incredible fitness options open to them.”
The JCC has a skilled, inspirational team of certified fitness instructors teaching yoga, Pilates, barre, cycling, Zumba and other specialized disciplines. It also offers members a roster of more than 90 free drop-in group exercise classes each week, as well as year-round health and wellness programs geared for the entire family in its Russ Berrie Family Health & Recreation Complex. This ultra-modern recreation facility is a place where members can enjoy the benefits of individualized instruction, all the latest in state-of-the-art equipment and a caring and motivational staff that can assist people at all ages and fitness levels to achieve their fitness goals.
Participants should bring a mat, towel, water bottle and sunscreen and be prepared to stretch out. Event will be held in the JCC Taub Gym in the event of inclement weather. The class is free, but participants should “Add to Cart” to RSVP. Raffles are available for great health and wellness prizes, including a three-month membership to the JCC.
