(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC on the Palisades) The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is pleased to announce its First Annual Sports Night of Champions to support scholarships at the JCC. The evening will feature a strolling dinner, live auction, awards ceremony honoring community leaders, scholarship presentations to high school athletes and special guest appearances by Phil Simms, two-time NFL Super Bowl Champion and MVP in Super Bowl XXI, and Chris Simms, nationally celebrated NBC football commentator. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 13, at 6 p.m.

The evening will also celebrate the life and legacy of Joseph Taub, z”l— the former co-owner of the New Jersey Nets and a founder of Automatic Data Processing (ADP)—who will be acknowledged with the JCC Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of the tremendous impact he had on underserved youth in the area of athletics.

“We are proud to remember Joseph Taub as a dear friend,” says JCC CEO Jordan Shenker. “His long-lasting impact on our JCC and this community will live on in our hearts and memories. He made dreams of a better life possible for countless youth and it is a privilege to honor him at our first annual Sport Night of Champions that is so closely connected to his lifelong love of sports and his desire to do for others.”

Gordon A. Uehling, III, founder of CourtSense, will be honored with the JCC Emerging Leader Award in appreciation for his inspiration and guidance to thousands of aspiring young athletes in our community.

The JCC will then present Scholar Athlete scholarship awards to local high school students, as well as runner-up and honorable-mention scholarship awards.

The evening is being sponsored by Michelle and Scott Tesser and family.

Early-bird general admission dinner tickets are $180 per person through January 22, $250 per person after. Student admission is $50. For further details, including sponsorship opportunities, and tickets, visit jccotp.org/sportsnight or call Michal Kleiman at 201-408-1412.
