(Courtesy of Kaplen JCC on the Palisades) The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is sponsoring a satellite ride for our community on Sunday, July 10 at 10 a.m. with an inspirational, 75-minute stationary bike ride featuring three JCC group exercise instructors.
The Ride for the Living (RFTL) is an annual bike ride through the Polish countryside from Auschwitz-Birkenau to the JCC in Krakow, Poland. Thousands gather to commemorate those lost in the Holocaust and learn about Jewish history, as well as celebrate the rebirth of Jewish life in Poland.
Our goal is to gather together for a memorable and educational experience to unite our Jewish communities both here in New Jersey and in Krakow, Poland. Proceeds support both the JCC in Krakow and Holocaust education and awareness at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades.
The ride is sponsored by the Rubach family and is named for Leon Rubach, z”l, who survived the Holocaust as a hidden child in Poland.
The event schedule: 9:45 a.m., check-in and welcome; 10 a.m., main event; 11:15 a.m., after-event reception.
