IAC Cinematec at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades will present ‘Past Life’ on Sunday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m., as part of an ongoing series designed to bring people together to enjoy screening acclaimed Israeli films and participate in unique dialogues with film experts. In this fascinating and profoundly moving new film from one of Israel’s most acclaimed directors, Avi Nesher, two Israeli sisters investigate rumors of their father’s actions during WWII. Inspired by a true story, ‘Past Life’ tracks the daring 1977 trans-European odyssey of the sisters as they try to unravel the disturbing mystery that has shadowed their whole lives. The screening, made possible in collaboration with Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey’s Israel Film Festival, will be followed by a discussion with producer, David Milch.
