Yeshiva University softball player Kayla Applebaum was named by the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) its softball Player of the Week for the week ending March 22.
Applebaum had a pair of big games last week in a doubleheader against John Jay College.
The Teaneck, New Jersey product went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two runs batted in during game one, while in game two she went 2-for-3 with a double and a run batted in. So far this season, Applebaum, who was named to the HVIAC All-Conference team last season, is batting.429 (6-for-14), with three doubles, three runs and four runs batted in.
