Kinneret Day School’s seventh-grade class recently hosted a טקס יום הזיכרון לשואה ולגבורה, program for the Day of Holocaust Remembrance and Heroism exploring life before the war in both Europe and North Africa. The event, which took place in the school’s auditorium, was attended by students, faculty and parents. Through excerpts of speeches, music, student created art and video the students presented their findings based on the most current scholarship. The tekes showcased the students’ dedication to research and understanding the past. The audience was impressed by the depth of knowledge and the heartfelt presentations. The event was a reminder of the importance of Holocaust education and the value of teaching young people about their vibrant history and, most importantly, to give the names and faces back to the victims of the Holocaust, celebrating the lives they lived. The school community is proud of the seventh graders and looks forward to future events highlighting their academic pursuits.
