Kinneret Day School is preparing for its yearly presentation for Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. This year the focus is life in Eastern Europe and North Africa before the war. Marjorie Hirsch’s seventh-grade students participated in a Big Paper Silent Conversation, interacting with text and photos from this period. KDS is fortunate to have the resources of Facing History to help guide them. The scholarship of Aomar Boum and Sarah Abrevaya Stein was indispensable to the preparation for this project. The book “Wartime North Africa” is a treasure trove of primary documents with detailed biographies.
