With Israel constantly in our thoughts and hearts, Kinneret is always looking for ways to support the Israeli soldiers. The school is so proud of the blessed initiative led by Hebrew teacher Hanita Hayim over the past few weeks.
Hanita created a fundraising project to prepare food packages for soldiers in Israel. The cost of each package was $20 and the goal, to raise funds for 200 packages, was achieved! Hanita flew to Israel during the winter break, purchased and packaged all the treats, and delivered them to the distribution centers for the soldiers. All donations were made in the name of Kinneret Day School and were marked as such.
This was a wonderful opportunity to again support the people of Israel, in this case, the IDF soldiers, who stand on the front lines and defend the State of Israel. During these hard times, when Israel is fighting to defend our land, protect our people, and bring home the hostages, it is very important to give strength to the soldiers and appreciate their tremendous contributions. The soldiers were so grateful and sent heartfelt messages and videos of appreciation to the Kinneret families.
Kinneret has led several amazing support programs for Israel over the past few months, including a cake pop sale to raise money for Magen David Adam, a blue ribbon and bake sale for PeopleforIsrael.com, selling “Bring Them Home” hostage release dog tags set up to support American hostages through the Merit Spread Foundation. Kinneret is always looking for new ways to help Israel!
