Knesset House Committee Approves Elections on March 16

(TPS) The Knesset’s House Committee approved a bill dispersing the Knesset for its first reading, another step toward the fourth round of elections in Israel in two years’ time.

By a 10-7 vote, the House Committee decided to approve the Bill for the Dispersal of the 23rd Knesset for its first reading in the Knesset plenum.

Committee members from Likud, Shas and United Torah Judaism, members of the coalition, voted against advancing the legislation.

The bill will be brought to a vote in its first reading in the Knesset plenum on Monday, December 14. It requires three readings in the plenum to become law.
