(Courtesy of Kosher Troops) On Sunday Pesach, Sheni U.S. Air Force Chaplain Yitzchok Lerman and his wife, Bina, hosted a barbecue for Jewish military families. Rabbi Lerman, a reservist who is also the rabbi of Congregation Beth El in Rutherford and the director of Chabad of the Meadowlands invited fellow Jewish servicemembers and their families to his shul for an afternoon of unity. Fifty people from around the tri-state area participated in the event. Present was JWB Jewish Chaplains Council endorser Rabbi Ira Kronenberg (Col.) USA Ret., as well as reservists and the families of active-duty members. Children and adults enjoyed personalizing their canvas tote bags (now essential in New Jersey) with military and Jewish-themed stencils. It was a wonderful day of bonding in brotherhood. The event was sponsored by the Chabad of New Jersey Mental Health Initiative and Kosher Troops.
