Who besides doctors, nurses and hospital staff are the continuous responders today in our community? The answer is teachers and principals. At the beginning of the pandemic, the principals and teachers in the schools figured out a way to do remote learning for the children of our community. After this, they opened the doors to school with safety. They have shown the same care and attention to safety as our other first responders.

These teachers are dealing with 20-30 children per hour. They are teachers, social workers and psychologists all in one. They prepared and conducted remote classes in the beginning and now teach in the classroom. Administrators and teachers are in communication with parents at all hours of the day and night, on weekdays and weekends. They have preserved a sense of normalcy and accomplishment.

The daily remote Zoom learning classes were almost an exact mirror of school learning. Parents were able to see the smiles of the lovely children and teachers. The full day was occupied with learning. Student and teacher interaction was the norm with questions and answers.

Now with the school open and operating still during the pandemic, we must give the respect and thanks to our first and continuous responders.
