Kushner Cobras Douse Hillel Heat 5-0

Kushner varsity hockey visited Hillel and defeated a hardworking Heat team led by Lou Handwerker and goaltender Michael Assoulin, who made over 35 saves on the night. Despite not scoring during the game, the Heat showed resilience and put pressure on the Cobras players by keeping the game close until it got out of reach halfway through the second period. Kushner saw goals from five different players; Josh Lando, Drew Rabinowitz, Jesse Koppel, AJ Keiser and Jason Singer. Singer’s goal was spectacular, taking time to rip a shot perfectly into the top corner. Goaltender Itai Merlin earned the win in the net fending off all of Hillel’s attempts. Cobras improve to 5-3 on the season with the playoffs on the horizon.
