After a long, traffic-filled bus ride to Midwood Brooklyn, the Kushner Cobras shook off the rust and a lethargic start to defeat ShaareTorah 54-46. The Cobras were trailing by 5 after the first, and by 6 heading into the locker room, despite junior Sam Bernstein scoring 8 of his 10 points in the second period. After some halftime adjustments, Kushner came out on fire in the second half, led by Arthur Greefield who scored 12 of his 15 points in the third period. With the game knotted at 38 heading into the final period, it was time for Kushner junior guard Sam Raab to go to work. Raab had several key steals and scored all 13 of his points in the final stanza. Kushner’s smothering defense was led by Jake Jerushalemy, Sam Korbman and David Lowinger, who also chipped in with 7 points.
