Kushner JV Hockey Advances to Semi-Final

The Kushner Cobras secured a semi-final appearance with their 4-2 win over the Rambam Ravens.

It was a momentous night for Sammy Steiner and his teammates as he recorded a natural hat trick and an assist. Steiner opened the scoring halfway through the first period on a backhand shot after linemate James Orbach won a face off and slid the ball over to him. Rambam Captain Mendel Rosenberg countered two minutes later into the frame on an unassisted shot in front of the net.

Second period scoring saw Steiner score two more times, both goals resulting from gritty effort in front of the net, cashing in on second chances. The period ended with the Cobras holding a 3-1 lead.

The final frame began with Rambam pressing to tie the game but halfway through the period Steiner threaded an backhand pass to an open James Orbach who triumphantly scored the much needed insurance goal to go up 4-1.

Rambam would add another goal to make it 4-2 with five minutes remaining but it would not be enough as the Cobras hung on to victory.

Simon Rosenfeld led the way in net for Kushner stopping nearly all shots that came his way.

Congratulations to the Cobras who now head to DRS in a much anticipated Semi-Final matchup.
