Lamdeinu’s Online High Holidays Semester to Begin Sept. 1

(Courtesy of Lamdeinu) This year, you can join Lamdeinu on Zoom throughout the Yamim Noraim season to add meaning to your High Holidays.

Lamdeinu’s inspirational High Holiday schedule kicks off on Wednesday morning, September 1, with a pre-Rosh HaShanah shiur taught by Dean Rachel Friedman. The shiur is entitled “Bereishit and the Yamim Noraim: Creating the World and Creating Ourselves” and will take place 10:15-11:45 a.m. Men and women are invited to attend.

Lamdeinu continues its High Holiday learning with Rabbi Gedalyah Berger and Rabbi Daniel Fridman on Thursday mornings, September 2, 9 and 30. Rabbi Fridman will give his signature Thursday “Parashah & Haftarah Pointers” shiur at a new time. Join Rabbi Fridman 9:30-10:30 a.m. to analyze each week’s Torah and Haftarah readings and explore their connections to the holidays of Tishrei. Continue your Thursday learning at 11 a.m. with Rabbi Berger, who will explore “when, why, and how” we read from multiple sifrei Torah on Yom Tov. In this context, Rabbi Berger will explore the Kohen Gadol’s reading of the Torah on Yom Kippur. This series is called “Reading the Torah on Yom Tov: Tishrei Then and Now” and is taught from 11a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Thursdays. Both Thursday series are open to men and women.

To gain deeper insight into the Torah readings of Yom Kippur, join Rabbi Hayyim Angel and Rabbanit Yael Leibowitz for two exciting shiurim. On Monday September 13, Rabbi Angel will delve into the complex story of Yonah ben Amitai and the city of Nineveh in “The Essential Message of the Book of Yonah.” This class will take place from 1 to 2:15 p.m. and is open to men and women. On Tuesday September 14, Rabbanit Yael Leibowitz will offer a new spin on the idea of teshuvah through the lens of the story of Cain and Hevel in Sefer Bereishit. This unique class is entitled “Cain, Guilt, and Righting Our Wrongs” and will take place 10:15-11:30 a.m. The shiur is open to men and women.

All Lamdeinu High Holiday classes will take place online via Zoom. To register, please visit www.Lamdeinu.org/register. For additional questions or to learn about sponsorship and dedication opportunities, please email [email protected].

Lamdeinu wishes the entire community a meaningful and inspirational High Holiday season. We look forward to “Studying in Depth and Being Inspired” with you all year long!
