Julian Mendez, the talented West Orange goaltender, stopped 35 shots but could not stop number 36 as Jack Fischer’s shot broke a scoreless tie with just over three minutes left in the game. Although Frisch controlled the puck with a relentless forecheck from the outset, the West Orange netminder kept the game scoreless for the Mountaineers. The Cougars had many quality scoring opportunities throughout the game, only to be denied by Mendez. Ezzy Wachstock stopped 15 shots for Frisch, including a short-handed breakaway, keeping the game scoreless, for his first shutout of the season. Jack Margolius and Judah Volodarsky assisted on Fischer’s game winner for the Cougars, while the team finished with a total of 38 shots.
