Launch of the First NJ Jewish Public Officials Caucus Is Off to Great Start

(Courtesy of NJJBA) The inaugural reception for the New Jersey Jewish Public Officials Caucus at the NJLM Conference in Atlantic City took place recently. The bi-partisan caucus, which was established to help Jewish public officials better serve their communities, is an affiliate of the North Jersey Jewish Business Alliance. The network provides a platform for government officials and others to meet and discuss strategies on how to best work together for the interests of the Jewish community.

The wine-and-cheese reception had a huge turnout where rewarding new relationships were formed. The officials and hosts were excited by the positive feedback and productive meetings it garnered. The event was kicked off by the mayor of Englewood, Michael Wildes, who warmly welcomed the crowd and offered generous praise to the organizers and co-hosts of the event. This was followed by co-chair Meryl Gonchar, Esq., of Sills Cummis & Gross, PC, who expressed her pride in sponsoring the reception together with Ted Zangari, Esq. She also stressed the importance of such a caucus and outlined its objectives. The co-hosts were followed by Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg and Senator Bob Singer, as well as members of the assembly Hon. Roy Freiman, Hon. Gary Schaer and Hon. Andrew Zwicker, followed by a bi-partisan mix of mayors, freeholders and other public officials.

The New Jersey Jewish Public Officials Caucus will host roundtable discussions and events to help members support one another and share their experiences and best practices to further Jewish causes, especially security-related issues in the local communities. In the words of the NJJBA founder David Rosenberg, “This caucus will completely revolutionize the way Jewish public officials network.” The North Jersey Jewish Business Alliance has served as an advocate for businesses in New Jersey since 2015.
