Students at Lauren Elise Bier Nursery School had a blast learning and preparing for Sukkot! The entire school worked together and prepared a large sukkah which was made out of a TV box. Students loved playing in it and using their pretend play skills to act out the customs of Sukkot! They practiced shaking the lulav and etrog and learned all about the different parts of the lulav and etrog and how they correspond with the parts of their bodies. They touched their beating hearts and felt their long spines. Each child made beautiful Sukkot decorations to take home with them. They enjoyed eating in a real sukkah on Chol Hamoed with all of their friends. Each child made a flag for Simchat Torah and as a school they danced together with their Torahs and flags. Students had a special visit from Rabbi Zwickler, who took them to the sanctuary and showed them a real Torah. They had a chance to kiss it and see the first Hebrew letter of their names!
