Members of the community are invited this Shabbat, September 21, for a presentation by Eitan Solomon, PhD, in the main sanctuary at Congregation Ahavas Achim in Highland Park at 6:00 p.m.

Solomon is a marine biologist and a scientist at the Oceanic Research Center in Eilat, Israel. He will discuss his research, which focuses primarily on developing products from seaweed and algae, such as antibiotics and cosmetics, and ways in which seaweed can be used to clean wastewater and saline wastewater from desalination factors.

Solomon was born and raised in Kedumim, Israel, and served as an officer in the IDF, in charge of the Kalendiah checkpoint. He invites all community members to visit Eilat and get a personal tour of his research lab at the Oceanic Research Center. He may be reached at 058-509-5860 to arrange a tour.
