The pre-k class of the Lauren Elise Bier Nursery School is excited to announce that they have adopted a 1,500-pound dairy cow, named Allie, for the duration of the school year. Allie lives on a beautiful dairy farm in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The children will participate in the Discover Dairy program which contains an interactive cross-curricular, multi-leveled lesson series of science, math and social studies concepts to show students where milk comes from and how dairy farms contribute to our world. The children have taken a virtual tour of the farm, are writing letters to the farmers and look forward to regular updates from the farm on Allie’s development and health.
