Let’s March for Israel This Sunday

Most of us know, intrinsically, that there is such a thing as objective truth as opposed to opinion, or perspective, or even “lived experience,” despite what The New York Times prints as their version of the news. Without invalidating that there is a vast array of legitimate opinion, perspective and lived experiences, pro and con, on each side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it is true that if we do not share actual, concrete facts, the reality of our dynamic U.S.-Israel relationship will be no more. That’s what’s at stake.

As Jewish Americans, we must support and bring light to this vibrant relationship, that Israel is still America’s best ally and the only democracy in the Middle East. This coming Sunday, we join with our larger community in advocating for Israel and reminding each other of the strong and important role we play as advocates for the Jewish state. Let’s get out there and show the secular news media that we care about Israel, that a strong U.S.-Israel relationship is not optional or “an opinion,” and that we know Israel has a responsibility—more than a right—to defend its citizens against rockets lobbed by Hamas from Gaza.

We will wear our blue and white, loud and proud, and look forward to seeing everyone in our coverage area at Phelps Park in Teaneck at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 6 (parking available at FDU). We will march at 4:30 to Sagamore Park, where we will enjoy a concert from the incomparable Benny Friedman. For more info, visit @uniteforisrael2021 on Instagram. Thanks to all the schools, shuls and community organizations for your support. See you there!
