Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Howdy friends! I must admit, some a cappella we enjoy listening to all year long. Well, not D.J. Al, LOL, though I do. “Banai” with Nachi Krohn and Yosef Karduner is one of those, as is Dovid Pearlman’s new “Nachamu.” Glad we are in Menachem Av now, and looking forward to Elul.

Lev Tahor and Mordechai Shapiro’s collaboration, “Geula,” is a very special song. We are praying so hard for Geula! Berel Solomon’s new film, “Finding Mashiach” included many of our rabbis and friends, bringing home the message that the times of Mashiach are right on our doorstep.

Some new singers and not-so-new singers have put out good new tracks, multilingual and with great instrumentals. Yossef Nativ and Eyal Roth: “Baderech El Ha’or.” Duvid Berger: “Gaguim.” Haim Israel, Shmulik Sukkot and Bentzi Stein: “Elu VaElu.” Yoeli Weiss: “Efshar Letaken.” Check out the songs and music videos.

Tefilas Chusen V’kallah-moving chuppah medleys by Chaim Waldman—this one we take the liberty of dedicating mazel tov to our special friends, the Zar family in Queens, who just married off a daughter, and at that wedding, their son met his future kallah. May H” continue to shower klal Yisroel with simchas, refuas, and victories in Israel, the USA and worldwide.

Nissim Black’s new album, “Glory” is a winner. Reb Nissim can always be counted on for inspiration, musically and otherwise. Our own Joey Newcomb and all of our performers are busy spreading real joy, traveling to camps, programs, even internationally, all summer and always, unlike some politicians espousing joy with nothing to show for it. Remember, “Where’s the beef?” LOL, if our singers appeared at recent conventions, there’d be farbrengen joy center-stage. Reminder: Ishay Ribo’s Madison Square Garden concert is September 15.

Rabbi Efrem Goldberg reminds us that as we travel, enjoy and wind down summer, folks in Israel are still struggling. There’s so much we can do from here and get involved, b’ezras H”!

One of our chef friends is in Israel now making barbecues for soldiers. Fellow radio broadcaster Sid Rosenberg of WABC Radio will be returning to Israel for the anniversary of October 7, broadcasting live for the week of commemorations, as we await full victory.

Dovy Meisels and Mordechai Kohn put out a heartwarming music video, “Vhuseir,” depicting Shabbos in a hospital. Many of us, as chaplains, or as civilians, have been there. May we continue to show up for each other. As Rabbi Goldberg says, our connection is our protection.

Wishing all a meaningful Chodesh Elul as we continue to pray forward, and as the King comes out into the field. May our students have a safe school year. How about placing love notes in their lunchboxes? How about love notes for our spouses? How about some good music to brighten everyone’s day? May H” bless us with strong, cohesive communities, starting with each one of us, from the inside out. Thank you Hashem/God!
