To the Editor:

In Mr. Troodler’s piece on the 2016 presidential contest, he states that “as a former First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is undoubtedly qualified to lead.” In fact, the precise opposite is true.

Yes, Ms. Clinton has been around for many years, including several important positions. However, a leader must be measured by his or her accomplishments, not merely by the offices that they have held. A politician who serves without achievements is not fulfilling the purpose that they were elected for.

Ms. Clinton has failed in every significant assignment she was involved in. As First Lady, she led a task force seeking to overhaul our health system, and failed miserably. As Secretary of State, she has partnered with our President to withdraw American leadership from world affairs, with the predictably horrifying consequences that have resulted. She also bears at least some responsibility for betraying America’s friends and cozying up to its enemies. As Senator, she has no real accomplishments to speak of. Finally, throughout her career she has demonstrated a total lack of honesty, trustworthiness, and ethics.

With a record like this, Ms. Clinton has shown beyond a doubt that she is not qualified to lead anything, certainly not this country.
