Lifelong Elizabeth to Hold ‘Senior Safety Days’

Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFSCNJ) will hold a series of three “Senior Safety Days” in Elizabeth, as part of the Lifelong Elizabeth—Age Friendly City Initiative Program:

Tuesday, May 8, 9-11:30 a.m., at the Peterstown Community Center, 408 Palmer Street, Elizabeth

Tuesday, May 15, 9-11:30 a.m., at the O’Donnell Dempsey Senior Center, 618 Salem Avenue, Elizabeth.

Thursday, May 24, 9-11:30 a.m., at the Elmora Branch Library, 740 W. Grand Street, Elizabeth.

The programs will all include sessions on: “Senior Scams and Fraud” by Sergeant Brian Clancy of the Elizabeth Police Department, and “Brain Health for the Active Mind” by Alice Greenberg-Sheedy, LSW, CDP, JFS Alzheimer’s/dementia caregiver program manager. The program will include raffles and giveaways. All sessions will be translated into Spanish.

Thanks to funding from the Grotta Fund for Senior Care, officials and partners throughout the city of Elizabeth are coming together to develop a livable city for all.
