Linden Delivers Annual Thanksgiving Pie-Giving

Last Thursday, the Jewish community of Congregation Anshe Chesed in Linden participated in their annual Thanksgiving pie delivery initiative. Led by Rabbi Joshua Hess, every year the families of the community bring fresh-baked pies to the local fire and police stations “to show our ongoing gratitude for the work these service men and women do for our community, especially as they leave their families on the holiday to make sure we’re safe and protected,” said Rabbi Hess.

First the community went to visit Linden Firehouse #2, where the families got a tour of the station. They were able to see, sit on and climb through the fire engines and take pictures with the firefighters. Then they went to the Wood Avenue police station, where the families got to meet the officers on duty and take pictures with them.

The community appreciates the local civil service workers and all they do for the community each and every day, and especially on holidays.
