(Courtesy of Congregation Anshe Chesed) Congregation Anshe Chesed of Linden has kicked off its year of learning with two special guest shiurim from rebbeim from Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future (CJF). In preparing for the month of Elul, Rabbi Yaakov Glasser of Young Israel of Passaic and the CJF delivered an enlightening and entertaining shiur on September 11 on the topic of teshuva. He focused on the difference between teshuva emerging from a person’s environment and that emerging from the person’s own character.
In another moving and inspiring shiur, Rabbi Baruch Simon, rosh yeshiva at YU, delivered pre-Selichot mussar on Motzei Shabbat, September 21. He highlighted the way that Selichot connects with the uniqueness of Shabbat and comes from Bnei Yisrael being the children of Hashem. Selichot were led as in previous years by the incredible Chazzan Moshe Udashkin of Teaneck.
Rabbi Joshua Hess of Anshe Chesed continues his Yamim Noraim shiur series on Thursday night, October 3. More information is at www.anshechesed.org.
