Live _ Smokey Joe’s Premieres Nov.2

Beginning Nov. 2, Smokey Joe’s will begin its 5th season of Live _ Smokey Joe’s—a Saturday night series of local bands to liven up your evening out.

New to Smokey Joe’s is David Bockman and the Jersey Po’ Boys. David is from California, having lived in the Bay area and L.A., but the six years he spent in Louisiana imbued him with a love of New Orleans party music, Meters inspired funk, and good ol’ rock ’n roll. The band will play two sets on November 2, at 8:30 and 10 p.m..

The music will continue to roll every Saturday night. “The bands work really hard to keep things fresh. Many of these bands have been playing here since the start of our Live_ Smokey Joe’s series over five years ago. But at least three of the bands have released new albums just in the last year,” said “Smokey Joe” Godin, proprietor of Smokey Joe’s, which is the world’s first Glatt Kosher, slow-cooked, wood-fired, pit-smoked authentic barbeque restaurant.

The restaurant was awarded three stars by Elysa Ung of The Record and is under RCBC kosher supervision.

Live _ Smokey Joe’s is for anyone who appreciates live music and local artists. “Some of the musicians live so close,” said Smokey Joe, “that you can see them walking through Teaneck hauling their equipment.”
