A community-wide celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel will take place on Thursday, April 19, starting at 4:30pm at The Livingston Oval on Robert Harp Drive.
There will be activities for all ages and interests, including a concert for children by the Israeli band Pey Dalid; an Israeli technology showcase; a petting zoo; an Israeli and Livingston Police Unity exhibit; an activity fair; Krav Maga exercises and Gaga games. People will also be able to participate in a graffiti art project led by Artists4Israel.
An Israeli flag-raising ceremony will be held at 6pm. The flag was a gift to the township from Ethiopian Jews in Livingston’s sister city of Rishon LeTzion, Israel. Jazz guitarist Tal Yahalom and pianist Gon Halevi will perform at the Livingston Library starting at 6:30pm.
The festivities are sponsored by the Livingston Committee for Diversity & Inclusion, the Livingston Celebrates Israel committee and the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, N.J.
