Local Artists Exhibit at Teaneck Library

Works by a local artist Ksenija Lea Tiferet Kostic-Pecaric are shown at Teaneck Public Library for the duration of February. She is a Teaneck resident for over 14 years but her journey started many years ago growing up in former Yugoslavia in an artistic family, spending summers gaining inspiration by the Adriatic coast and Italy. Having attended formal art school in Belgrade, her life journey took her to Prague, New York and then to Krakow, where she received her master’s in fine art and art education.

While living in Krakow, Poland, she was active in the local Jewish community, and created many artworks with Jewish subjects and symbols and had a chance to exhibit in many places in Poland. Her interest in Jewish themes and symbols are still present in her work, blended with her interest in nature, music and abstract personal explorations. The paintings that are on view at Teaneck Public Library are personal journeys to her Bohemian world that are based on real landscapes that are just outside of Prague in Czech Republic that she visits often.

She lives in Teaneck and teaches art at Yeshivat Noam and Ma’ayanot.
