Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

LPS 3rd and 4th Grades Visit Guggenheim Museum

This week the third and fourth grade visited the Guggenheim Museum and had a fantastic time! As we explored the art museum, which was a piece of art itself, we observed how an art composition can show moods, feelings and the whole atmosphere of a painting. A video showed how two artists used objects they found in their house to make one thing move, which moved another object, which moved another, and so on. Those two artists, Fischli and Weiss, took everyday objects and put them together to create a very interesting type of art with balancing their objects. Then we also tried to use our objects to create something like Fischli and Weiss did.

Downstairs we had a fantastic time getting to create our own paintings. As we studied paintings, we admired the circular building with all the many floors going around until the very tippy top.

All in all, it was a great trip and we hope to come back soon!
