As a special activity in honor of Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, preschoolers at Lubavitch on the Palisades baked challah from scratch. Students engaged in a literacy activity of reading the recipe chart and used their math skills to measure and add the ingredients. Students also observed how yeast helps the challah rise and created their unique challah shapes to bring home for the first Shabbat of Cheshvan.
