LPS Children Act Out Chanukah Story

Preschool students at Lubavitch on the Palisades learned the Chanukah story and acted out how the Jews pretended to play dreidel when they were actually learning Torah in order to avoid getting in trouble with the Greeks who did not allow Jews to do the mitzvot. The children learned that with help from Hashem, a special group of Jews led by Yehuda the Maccabee prevailed against the large Greek army and chased them out of Yerushalayim. When the Maccabees went into the holy beit hamikdash they wanted to light the menorah but had difficulty finding a jar of oil that was not broken. They found one last jar that miraculously burned for eight days and nights. The children had a great time taking turns hiding and finding the oil.
