LPS Fifth and Sixth Graders Visit the Met Museum of Art

On March 8 we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was such a beautiful, artistic, and amazing place. I have never seen such masterpieces from the most famous artists: Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keefe and many more. Our art teacher, Morah Estyn, was so amazing. She told us the history of each painting. She was so sweet that she even gave us little packets showing us the things we were going to see.

Once we came back down, a tour guide took us to the Ancient Egyptian exhibit. Nikauhor made his own tomb. Our tour guide, Mrs. Goodman, told us all about Pharaohs, sphinxes and Hatshepsut. We were so lucky. We were even able to see the Temple of Dendur. Most people in Ancient Egypt were only able to see a little bit of it from the Nile River. We saw the whole thing. At the end of the trip, we saw more awe inspiring paintings.

Thank you Mrs. Davis, my teachers, Morah Estyn and Mrs. Goldman for an amazing experience!
