Lubavitch on the Palisades Preschool students learned about the human body and how to live healthfully. The children examined the heart—how it pumps blood into the lungs and the rest of the body to provide the oxygen it needs to function. They learned that when we exercise, our hearts beat faster in order to supply more oxygen-filled blood to our muscles. The children felt their hearts while they were calm, and then again after they exercised, noting the difference in their heartbeats. The preschoolers even tried finding their own pulses. Taking turns, they listened to their hearts with an actual stethoscope.
