Lubavitch on the Palisades Hebrew School and TLZ Club welcomed two IDF soldiers this past Sunday for a Round Table Talk. In appreciation for the FIDF Food Drive the TLZ held earlier in the year to raise funds for the IDF, Yonatan and Don came to visit and talk with the students and teens about their service in the army. Starting off the talk with a mitzvah, Rabbi Shain and Rabbi Katz donned tefillin with the soldiers, said the Shema together and prayed for the safety of the Jewish people in Israel and the entire world. Then Yonatan and Don spoke to the children about their experiences as IDF soldiers, defending our country and protecting our people. They shared their motivations, their inspirations and how protecting Israel is really protecting the entire Jewish nation. The children and teens thoroughly enjoyed talking with the soldiers and presented them with thank-you cards in appreciation for their service. Yonatan and Don also gave out FIDF baseball caps to the teens who helped with the Food Drive.
