Students in Ma’ayanot’s 12th grade physics classes, accompanied by Gila Stein, Gillian Cofnas and Aryeh Tiefenbrunn, bundled up against the cold on December 27, and headed to Manhattan for a matinee performance of “That Physics Show.” Written and performed by David Maiullo, the show won the 2016 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience. It brings to life and explains concepts taught in physics classes, such as motion, momentum, friction, density, motion, sound and light waves, temperature and more. One of the specific conundrums explored was, “What is New Jersey’s center of mass?” (Answer: Trenton)
