Ma’ayanot’s color war theme this year was bechachma yibaneh bayit, building a home, which represented Ma’ayanot’s school theme for this year. As the school year progressed, the Ma’ayanot students and faculty watched their new “home” being built. Each team, Beit Knesset, Beit Midrash, Beit Mikdash and Beiteinu, (our homeland in Eretz Yisrael), represented how their team name reflected what it means to have a home and the sense of community unique to each of the teams.
The color war activities and events gave every student a chance to shine, whether it was competing in sporting events, writing team songs, choreographing dances, painting the banner or participating in chidon competitions. All the grades came together both as individual units and as one school community. Watching final presentations made it evident that each grade invested tremendous amounts of time and effort into all aspects of color war, while having fun bonding with their fellow classmates. The Ma’ayanot students and faculty will continue to turn their “home” into a vibrant bayit/house filled with Torah learning and tefillah.
