There was a lot of anticipation and excitement in the air leading up to this past week’s Ma’ayanot shabbaton in the Stamford Hilton. Students started off the weekend by heading to Chelsea Piers and enjoyed fun activities including ice skating, trampolines, sports and gymnastics. From there, they arrived at the hotel, ate lunch and learned about the theme of the shabbaton, “Building our Foundations.” After enjoying some pre-Shabbos ruach with potato kugel and music, the girls took pre-Shabbat pictures and then gathered together for a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat. The Friday night and Shabbat programming consisted of inspiring panels and divrei Torah, a senior-led tish, delicious food and playing games and bonding with friends and faculty. To end off Shabbat, there was a schoolwide kumzitz, which led into a musical Havdala, followed by a melava malka dinner and program. After an entertaining senior skit, the shabbaton ended with some more dancing and singing and some final words from Head of School Mrs. Neugroschl. The seniors had a special treat of staying over in the hotel for an extra night. The shabbaton will always be remembered as a special opportunity for all the students and faculty to spend quality time together in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
