(Ma’ayanot Sports) This past Sunday, JV soccer, varsity Soccer and hockey all came through with the W for Ma’ayanot!
JV soccer started off strong against North Shore with four goals in the first quarter. Sophomore Mia Polonetsky had the first one with the assist from Meital Rimberg. Meital knocked in the second with an assist from Bella Einhorn. Meital finished with a total of five goals. Sophomore Aviva Kurz had a goal with a minute left in the first quarter and sophomore captain Sorah Fisher finished the game with a goal in the fourth. Goalie Chana Bin-Nun finished with over 20 saves from the goal. The final score was 8-3. The team is currently 3-0.
The Ma’ayanot varsity soccer team hosted Hillel and came out swinging, scoring multiple goals at the outset of the game. Senior and captain Hodaya Rimberg had goals. Juniors Naama Davidowics and Yaffa Dimenstein had two and one goal, respectively. Seniors Meital Hirschkorn and Joey Friedman both knocked in two beauties. Seniors Naomi Honikman, Leah Weiss and Avigail Rifkind had one each. Goalie and captain Mayan Berkowitz had over a dozen huge saves. The final score was 15-3. The team also picked up a huge 10-3 win over Naaleh this past Monday night. The team is currently at 3-2.
Rapids Hockey hasn’t been able to play in two years, but that didn’t stop this group from coming out strong against Northshore yesterday. The game saw big goals from sophomore Rebecca Marguiles and two from junior Kayla Greenberg. Senior captains Kira Jacobs and Leora Brasch knocked in a goal a piece. Junior Meital Jeiger was relentless on defense, protecting the Rapids from the back line. Junior goalie Avigayil Levy had a shutout with 10 saves. The girls are set to play SKA at home Thursday night.
