The Ma’ayanot Yeshiva High School Drama Society proudly presented a one-night only special presentation of the play “Fools” by Neil Simon on Wednesday, April 26.

Senior Student Director Tamar Bruk, Production Stage Manager Shani Machlis and Student Director Sophie Fine led the cast in the entertaining performance. Leon Tolchinsky has landed a terrific teaching job in an idyllic Russian hamlet. When he arrives, he finds people sweeping dust from the stoops back into their houses and people milking upside down to get more cream. The town has been cursed with Chronic Stupidity for 200 years, and Leon’s job is to break the curse!

The stellar cast of 10, representing all four grades, featured Lila Greengart, Miriam Blech, Layla Jacobson, Eleaya Jacob, Eden Kaufman, Kaila Novoseller, Tzipporah Chouake, Shira Halberstan, Adina Goldstein and Chaya Spool. The design/tech crew included Perla Brochdandel, Hannah Bromberg, Devorah Luber and Hannah Tollinsky.

Fine commented, “Through my involvement in the Ma’ayanot Drama Society, I have found myself and my own voice. I’ve learned that I can create a character of my own, with specific moments that I can make special for me and my fellow castmates.”
