Mrs. Stein’s forensic science students modeled experimental procedures involved in DNA fingerprinting and used their results to identify a hypothetical murderer. They built DNA strand models out of pop beads, and simulated using restriction enzyme digestion and DNA electrophoresis to get unique patterns for each suspect, the victim and the murderer. The class put their data together and solved the case!
