Ma’ayanot Holds STEAMchats

Ma’ayanot held a special STEAMchats program for ninth and 10th grade to celebrate the students’ accomplishments in their STEAM courses throughout the year! From wearable technology, to coding and 3D printing, it was a great way to celebrate students’ creativity and get excited about what they will be learning in future STEAM classes. At Ma’ayanot, STEAM is a part of the core curriculum which means that all freshmen and sophomore students jump right into the innovation process and build STEAM skills. Caitlyn Siroka, who works for Google and has advanced degrees in dance, physics and engineering, discussed her unique projects that incorporated her interests in movement, physics and computer science. The students then enjoyed a great video created by Gaby Gotesman (‘21), showcasing their STEAM accomplishments, competed with a Kahoot game testing on their STEAM knowledge and feasted on iced coffee and muffins to end the program. Of course, swag was also distributed—this time, very special keychains created in the Ma’ayanot MakerSpace.
