This year, the highly anticipated, Ma’ayanot event of the year, Mishmover, turned into COVID-friendly MishmUnder—an evening full of learning and bonding with a running theme of simcha, very apropos for Rosh Chodesh Adar. Students were given a variety of panel discussions to choose from such as Mandating Emotions: Mental Health and Judaism with the Ma’ayanot Guidance Team; Happiness: It’s Not Something You Find, It’s Something You Make; Dealing with Doubts: Panel Discussion with Judaic Studies Teachers, Adar Vs. Av; The Polar Opposite Experiences of Simcha and so much more. Ma’ayanot also held a special session entitled “40 Ways for 40 Days: Tefillah, Chessed and the Power Within,” an inspirational, interactive program l’zechut a refuah shleimah for Shira bat Devora Leah and all cholei Yisrael. Students were given a list of 40 random acts of kindness that they could perform over the next 40 days along with a special Tehillim of their own. Students were treated to a Chickies dinner and super fun (and loud!) grade wide rounds of karaoke.
