Ma’ayanot celebrated Pink Day, a time to raise awareness about breast cancer and raise funds for Sharsheret, by extending their events throughout an entire week of school, February 5-9. In addition to dressing in pink, students raised funds through Manicure for the Cure (with manicures by Empire Beauty School students). They also held a bake sale, a pink challah bake, and hosted Sara Olshin, a Sharsheret volunteer who spoke about battling breast cancer. Ma’ayanot students proudly raised over $800 for Sharsheret, a national non-profit organization that supports young Jewish women and their families facing breast cancer.

“It was so wonderful to see our second annual Pink Week be so successful,” said Ma’ayanot senior Adira Levine. “I think it really allowed me and my fellow students to understand all of the amazing things Sharsheret does and made raising money for them that much more meaningful.”
