After finishing the season 6-2, and ending in second place in the MYHSAL western division, the Rapids came out swinging in the first round of the playoffs against HANC. After a tough loss to the first place Frisch team, the Rapids were anxiously waiting to start the post season to defend their championship banner. The night after a team-bonding BBQ, the Rapids came ready to play. Freshman pitcher Ariella Vogel gave up only two hits, and no batter got past first base throughout the game. Sophomore Michal Meisels led off with a few hits, while senior co-captain Sarah Berman hit two deep shots in the outfield. Great baserunning by junior and assistant captain Mia Nissel helped cap a strong second inning, where the Rapids took a big lead and never looked back. Junior Gila Segelov contributed as well with her strong hit to the outfield. Senior co-captain Tali Antosofsky played outstanding defense in the field, as usual. The team also was very patient at the plate, which helped walk in a few runs as well. For the fifth consecutive season, the team will head to the semi-final game.
