As the culmination of their halacha class unit on Taharat Hamishpacha, Ma’ayanot’s 12th grade went on a tour of the Teaneck mikvah. This inspiring trip was followed by a Q & A panel with Yoatzot Halakha, teachers Dena Block and Shifra Friedman, as well as former Ma’ayanot teacher and Teaneck Yoetzet Shoshana Samuels. All are graduates of Nishmat’s Miriam Glaubach Yoetzet Halacha Program. Halacha teacher Devora Dawidowicz is currently training in the program as well.

“The students found the trip so inspiring,” said Block. “They were particularly moved by how much thought went into every detail of building and operating the mikvah to create a positive and meaningful experience for the women who use it. The trip was also a great opportunity for the students to see the practical application of the halachot they had been learning in their classes.”
