Ma’ayanot students attended the Saban-AIPAC Regional Training Seminar in Newark on Sunday, October 22, with their advisor Yael Weil. They attended sessions on Israel policy, lobbying and advocating for Israel on college campuses. They also heard a keynote address from former senator Joe Lieberman. “Hearing how AIPAC works from the inside and what they are able to accomplish for Israel has inspired me to take action,” said sophomore Atara Weil. Miriam Fisch, a junior, added, “The conference really showed me that Israel is near and dear to the hearts of all kinds of people, from Jewish high school students to non-Jewish college students, wishing to learn more about the issues. It gave us a chance to come together with a common goal.” The students are members of MIPAC, the student-run Ma’ayanot Israel Political Action Committee.
