Mrs. Stein’s AP chemistry class was treated to a virtual “backstage pass” to the Alushin Labs at Rockefeller University through the Lab Backstage Program. Ayala Carl, a graduate student at Rockefeller University, and a Ma’ayanot alumna (‘12), engaged the students in a discussion about pharmaceutical drug design and the technique of Cryo-Electron Microscopy. She also showed them the tools and technology that she uses in her research. Ma’ayanot junior Mya Baitz said, “It was so cool to see the science we are learning in action and to be inspired by a Ma’ayanot alumna.”
