Purim brought, as it does every year, numerous opportunities for learning and celebration to Ma’ayanot. On the Tuesday before Purim, Ma’ayanot Principal Mrs. Rivka Kahan offered an optional lunchtime shiur on Megillat Rut. On Wednesday, Ta’anit Esther, Mrs. Shoshana Shechter, Assistant Professor of Bible at Stern College, presented to the entire student body on the topic: “Standing Out and Stepping Up: Lessons from the Megillah.”

Purim celebrations began with a school-wide, evening chagigah featuring a DJ, dance, Dance Revolution, a photo booth, a cotton candy machine and numerous other goodies. The festivities concluded with a costume contest on Shushan Purim.
